Not to smile while watching any of these super duper videos. Apologies for the overloaded video post, but I guess I needed a robust injection of COLOR. Ma-ma-ma-makes me happy. Happy Friday, dingus'!

Pretty Picture
Having a swell time with Robey. The great Facebook Status Update Battle of '10 has been a thrill to watch. Not sure who's going to win out. I dare say, my husband is in the lead. We're heading out with our driver, Nestor, today. The plan is to spend the day in Candelaria; the colonial section of Bogota. Botero, emeralds, the presidential palace, coffee, gold museum, ancient churches...the perfect day in Colombia.

Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut
Hola! Soy Doug. Me gusta los plantanos. Le importa que fume? No? Bueno. Ahora, vamos a al cine.
Video: This is Doug, the banana-thieving monkey from Krabi, Thailand. His extended family nearly killed us further down the river. Do you know what a crazed wet monkey feels like? No one on the planet should know that answer. And don't worry about why Doug speaks spanish and not thai.

Knowing Me, Knowing MU
Mu Bags. Super swell bags & accessories designed and produced by two cool chics right here in Bogota. I'm well on my way to a dangerous obsession. They come in a staggering array of colors and all of the interiors are lined in lively contrasting fabrics. Mwah to Mu.

Warriors! Come out to plaaaayay!
So many TRIBAL influences on the runway this season. My favorite being, Nicolas Ghesquiere's version for Balenciaga. No matter the season nor the influence he takes what is forward-thinking, fresh and inspiring and creates clothes that are familiar, wearable and forever cool. I am obsessed with the Pierre Hardy boots he commissioned; fashioned after Masai warrior necklaces. Salivating. I am eager to get these looks onto my body. Even if I have to rip up the block print pillows in my living room.

Marriage Super-Genius
With my dear friends Al and TT getting married this summer and having recently done the deed myself, I was thinking about what makes a successful marriage. A sense of humor. Respect. Honesty. The capacity to forgive and to laugh at yourself. Trust. Hard work. Sweet nothings. Sweet kisses. Then, I remembered some of the most ardent words about the subject from someone with many, many years of expertise...and it all just made sense.
Lenny: Yeah, you must be some kind of marriage super-genius, how about a few tips?
Homer: Certainly, Lenford. Make every day a celebration of your love. Surprise her with a pasta-salad. Put a mini beret on your wang.
Lenny: Oh, this stuff is gold.
Carl: Happy marriage, here I come.
I wish nothing but long, happy, goofy and loving marriages and partnerships for all of my sweet, sweet pals.
Side Note: To have "done the deed," does that mean marriage or sex or something else entirely? I really have no idea. Should probably refrain from using phrases which I am clueless about their meaning. C'est la vie...right???

Laaaaaary! You'll LOVE the chicken!
Found this in an old journal today,
"P.S. I miss Ryan. He would be great fun to have here."
It's funny when you come across something from a specific moment in your past and it reads as though it could have been written five seconds ago. Here's to finding our Dan Tana's/Marix/Wang's of Bogota...and Brazzaville...and wherever else in the world we end up.

Holy Heaven!
Somethings with which I am endlessly in love. Breakfast in bed. A pretty frock. Paris. And of course, cha cha champagne. Ahhhh...sweet, sweet heaven.
